buffalo springfield - for what it's worth

Stop, children, what's that sound, everybody look what's going down.

I just remembered a couple of days ago how much I loved the Forrest Gump soundtrack. The happy hippie in me was particularly eager to listen to this one song. Enjoy ;)

darren hayes - sense of humour

I keep being impressed with Darren's voice, songwriting skills and honesty. In reversed order.
Sense of humor

You will like my sense of humor
You will be addicted to my smile
Laughing all the while
And I will end each conversation
I will leave the room with upper hand
And you will understand

You will find my scent attractive
You will like my real, engaging eyes
And playful, childlike smile
You will find my style appealing
I will overpower you with wits
And I will be a hit

If only you'd run to me
If only you'd come to me
If only you'd relax upon your rules
And dare to be love's fool
If only you'd come for me
If only you'd run to me
If only you'd relax upon those rules
And dare to be love's fool

Waking up from a coma (tossing, turning)
Sweat has covered my body (my mouth felt dry)
My life flashing before me (nothing much to say)
Still it was so boring (did you hear me sing?)
Only I could adore you (the wind through the trees)
Silently barking orders (rushing up to me)
This is only beginning (don't anger the sea)
Oh, the wave's crashing higher and higher on me

Crash, crash, crash, crash

If only you'd relax upon your rules
And dare to be love's fool
If only you'd run to me
All the blinking lights, noise of eternity (if only you'd come to me)
All the sentences swirling inside of me (you will like my sense of humor)
Inside of me (and dare to be love's fool)
(If only you'd come to me)
I have censored my eyes, I get drawn through my ears (if only you'd run to me)
Redirected desire now - it comes out as tears (you will like my sense of humor)
You know, it comes out as tears (and dare to be love's fool)

You will like my sense of humor
You will like my sense of humor

captain hollywood project - flying high

Ah, this brings back school memories. This was a hit in our reunions when I was in the... 6th grade or somewhere around that. In times when the likes of Dr. Alban, DJ Bobo, La Bouche, Fun Factory, Caught in the Act, 2Unlimited and Snap! were ruling the European dancefloors. Everytime I listen to one of those songs it just means instant flashback. God, I was so young :))))))

For no reason at all, this song popped into my mind a couple of days ago and I couldn't get it out, though I was listening to something completely different on my player O_o so I thought... why not dig a bit into the faves of that era. No, I am NOT embarrassed. This is good shit.

aerosmith - cryin'

So... back for another (the how many-eth?) attempt.

I've already mentioned how Always got me hooked on music for good. Well... the first video I remember seeing, ever, was this one. It was back in the days when my brother was listening to music and especially a thing called rock, which of course made me hate that thing. And particularly a band named Aerosmith, who had an unplugged concert on that dreaded MTV station, which was watched at maximum volume while I had to keep quiet with the TV blasting in my ears. Ah well. It made me remember the band's name... and well, I saw this video and I freakin' liked it O_o. Though later I kept confusing Cryin' with Crazy. I guess these two are like November Rain and Don't Cry for Guns... Welcome to the Jungle and Livin' on the Edge rock, but it's November Rain/Don't Cry and Crazy/Cryin' that get the chicks :P

muse - sing for absolution

muse was a concert highlight. i blogged about it (or not) in my personal blog. picking just one song is hard, but sing for absolution is definitely one of my favourites. damn sensitive and touching song.

eminem - sing for the moment

This Eminem song rocks. Well, that's probably due to the guitar part being sampled from Aerosmith's Dream On. But you know what? As much as I like Aerosmith, I like Sing for the Moment better. It's... edgier.

midnight oil - beds are burning

No special reason for this song other than me liking it and me hearing it in the cab, while I was en route to hand in my final paper for my master's degree (yep, am about to finish the darn thing).

How can we dance when our earth is turning?
How do we sleep when our beds are burning?
